One of the World's Oldest Pewter Gift Makers — Still Relevant in 2026
Royal Selangor was founded in 1885 in Kuala Lumpur by Yong Koon, a young Chinese immigrant with a talent for pewtersmithing. Today the company is world-renowned, with shops in over 20 countries and products in some of the world's most prestigious collections. This is not a new phenomenon — but it is absolutely a noteworthy collection for Christmas 2026.
The Earth Collection: Nature's Beauty in Pewter
The Earth collection is Royal Selangor's most nature-inspired series — with motifs of orangutans, elephants, sea turtles and other endangered animals engraved in relief on pewter. A collection that resonates with 2026's climate consciousness: you give something beautiful that tells an important story.
Barware and Drinking Accessories — More Popular Than Ever
Royal Selangor's barware range is trending. Whisky glasses, hip flasks, wine pourers and shot glasses in pewter have become one of the fastest-growing segments — driven by a generation of drinks enthusiasts seeking authentic experiences over mass-produced accessories.
Engraving: Now with Shorter Lead Times
One of the most requested services at Royal Selangor Norway is engraving — and for Christmas 2026, we offer shorter processing times than in previous years. Order by 10 December and we guarantee delivery with engraving before Christmas Eve.
Collaborations Worth Knowing
Royal Selangor has in 2026 extended its collaboration with the British Museum — and the Letter Opener Hound Head (NOK 1,149) is one of the most interesting examples. It is a design piece with historical grounding: the animal is taken from the antiquities collection at the British Museum and rendered in hand-engraved pewter. A collectible and a useful object in one.
